How it all started
From Tesla Medical to Stimvia
Our company was founded in 2014 under the name Tesla Medical by Lukáš Doskočil conjunction with specialists from 2nd Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague in order to develop a revolutionary technology capable of changing people’s lives for better.
The result of the cooperation is URIS®, a unique technology that enables non-invasive stimulation of deep brain structures for the treatment of a range of chronic diseases.
Our key technology and its application is protected by over 71 patents throughout the EU, Japan, and the USA. We are also honored to have the CE mark from one of the most prestigious notified bodies, the renowned German institution, TÜV SÜD.

Mr. Blok’s education began in Rotterdam’s Erasmus Medical Center, where the university MD cum laude in 1988 and PhD cum laude in 1998 at the University Medical Center Groningen.
Mr. Blok’s work went to Resident Urology University Medical Center Amsterdam and McGill, Montreal.
His research focus of is on optimization of treatment in functional urology using basic, translational and clinical research. He is author of more than 100 peer reviewed papers, mainly as first or last author.

Prof. Jan Krhut, MD
Scientific Advisory Board
Prof. Jan Krhut served as the head of the Urology Clinic at the University Hospital of Ostrava for 15 years. He maintains a faculty position as a Professor of Medical Science at lecture the University and is also active in the Czech Urological Society. Since the beginning of his professional career, Prof. Krhut has specialized in adult functional urology where he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of bladder and pelvic floor disorders. His work has been widely internationally recognized.
David R. Staskin, MD
Scientific Advisory Board
David R. Staskin, MD is an internationally recognised expert in urology, particularly in female incontinence, urodynamics and neuro-urology. He serves as Associate Professor of Urology at Tufts University and is affiliated with St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston.
During his career, he has worked at prestigious universities including Harvard, Cornell and Boston University. He is the author of more than 145 scientific publications and co-editor of three editions of the respected textbook Female Urology and Urogynecology. He holds eight patents and is the inventor of the SPARC™ and RetroArc™ systems for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. He co-founded UroCure and is actively involved in leading professional societies such as AUGS and SUFU.
Prof. Alan J. Wein, MD, PhD (Hon), FACS
Scientific Advisory Board
Professor Alan J. Wein is among the leading experts in urology and functional disorders of the lower urinary tract. At Stimvia, he serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Team and brings extensive clinical and academic expertise in Overactive Bladder, urological indications and international treatment standards.
During his career, he has worked, among other institutions, at the University of Pennsylvania, where he held long-standing leadership roles in urology. His involvement strengthens Stimvia’s clinical and scientific background as the URIS® device continues to be developed and brought to international markets.

Lukas Doskocil
Founder & CEO
Since the beginning of his career, Lukas Doskocil has been involved in the development, production and commercialization of medical devices.
After graduation from the Collage of International and Public Relations Prague, Lukas has begun working in the start-up environment and founded Stimvia (Tesla Medical) in 2014. His areas of interest include data analysis and research.
In Stimvia, Lukas has put together a stable team of experienced professionals motivated to change the way patients with various diseases are treated via non-invasive and safe neuromodulation.
Lukas Peter, PhD
Chief Technical Officer
Lukas Peter specializes in medical device development with a focus on a compliance with regulatory requirements that have significant impact on product development. As a Stimvia CTO, Lukas has managed the URIS® development project since the very beginning and optimized QMS processes in line with regulatory requirements such that the final product meets the highest technical and patient safety standards. Lukas received his PhD in a Technical Cybernetics program, where researched neuromodulatory therapy and also actively participated in projects focused on electrical stimulation. His scientific insight coupled together with his knowledge of regulatory requirements enables him to manage Stimvia’s product development in line with modern requirements and trends.
David da Silva, Ph.D.
Director of Global Distribution and Strategic Partnerships
At Stimvia, David da Silva focuses on global distribution, market development and building business partnerships for the international launch of the URIS® device. He brings more than ten years of experience in commercial leadership in MedTech and healthcare technologies, including at Medtronic, Stryker and Ascendis Health.
His role is to help Stimvia enter new markets, set up scalable distribution models and develop partnerships in Europe, Latin America and other priority regions. He connects business strategy with an understanding of the clinical environment and the needs of healthcare systems so that innovative non-invasive neuromodulation can reach as many patients as possible.
Alim Topdag, MSc
Director of Sales and Business Development (OUS)
At Stimvia, Alim Topdag focuses on developing business opportunities in priority regions, working with distribution partners and identifying ways to bring the URIS® device effectively into clinical practice.
In his role, he connects business development with support for clinical and technical implementation. He helps create the conditions for healthcare facilities, partners and specialists to work with Stimvia technology with confidence and with an understanding of its benefit for patients with Overactive Bladder.
Iveta Koňaříková
Sales Representative for the Czech and Slovak Republics
At Stimvia, Iveta Koňaříková focuses on business development in the Czech and Slovak markets. She is in contact with healthcare facilities, physicians and other partners, to whom she presents URIS® therapy and helps identify specific opportunities for its use in clinical practice. She connects the business side with the practical functioning of the therapy in the field, from the first contact and arranging cooperation through to ensuring that the technology reaches the places where it can help patients the most.
